A drawing salve is a topical ointment, or mixture that is used to “draw out” foreign objects in the skin. It has been used for splinters, boils, pieces of glass or cactus stickers, and even poison. To use, the drawing salve is applied, covered, and in a few days, the foreign objects are drawn to the surface of the skin to be removed.

In addition, it's wonderful for speeding up the healing from bug and spider bites, ingrown hairs, and thorns.

It's also useful for acne and pimples!  My recipe for drawing salve is just a good old basic remedy that works for what it was meant to do: Drawing out things that don't belong in the skin.
