Meet the Animals

Landrace Farm is proud to raise healthy livestock while also supporting a safe environment for rescued dogs and cats. The farm is home to flocks of sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, small herds of bunnies, and barn cats, all under the protective watch of our rescued guardian dogs.

The animals are raised as naturally as possible. Guardian dogs and barn cats are all rescued animals.

Cujo

This is Cujo, she is an Armenian Gampre and is one of the smaller dogs on the farm—only weighing 95 lbs. Before she was brought to the farm, she exhibited aggressive behavior which caused problems for her breeder. Now, Cujo's behavior is much improved and she really keeps the farm safe. She is an amazing dog!

Moose

This is Moose, the Spanish Mastiff. Moose got himself  in trouble up North in Washington. He confronted  some people who were hanging out along his fence line. Another rescue saved him and I was able to  get him for my farm. Moose is my lead dog and he sets the tone and culture with the other dogs. Moose weighs in at 165 pounds.

Georges

This is Georges. He is a bred guardian dog and will be around 150-200 lbs when he fully matures. Georges will take over Moose's position as lead dog. His main priority is to keep the mountain lions away.

Gordie

Gordie was a breeder reject but has

come to be the best guardian dog of all time.

Gordie lovingly takes care of the animals under his watch.

Khat

Meet Khat, an American Gampre. Khat got into trouble in LA when he attacked an Animal Control officer after his previous owner became sick. Animal Control did not know how to handle him, so he was brought to the farm.  Once on the farm, Khat became one of the sweetest dogs. Sadly, he died a year later; a happy dog at around 10 years old. He had a lot of health problems.

Reggie

This is Reggie, he is the only domestic dog on the farm.

Reggie was rescued from the back of a parking lot. Sadly, before he came to Landrace Farm, no one wanted him. Reggie is very loved here!
